Sleep Report

Kate is truly Great.

Last night was a grizzly sight, but Kate has made tremendous strides today. She took her morning and afternoon naps without any crying or fuss. The evening nap was a bit more difficult, she cried for 20 minutes then settled down. I was told Ellie went into her room shortly after and Jae found Kate wide awake in her crib so he brought her down to play, which in the end was a good thing cuz we were able to feed her and put her down for bed at an earlier time. She fussed at bedtime as well, but it wasn't as long or as bad as last night so we are slowly seeing progress.

The only downside is that Kate's smiles aren't as twinkly and bright as we're used to and when we hold her, she holds on to us in a closer manner. And there are times when she looks like she lost her best friend, which I guess she has.

I may be jinxing Kate's progress by saying this, but sleep training with Kate is like a walk in the park compared to the hell we went through with Ellie. It's made us realize how Ellie was set in her ways even as a baby.

Speaking of the belly, a conversation I had with her during dinner....
"Did you hear Kate crying last night?"
"Yes." Ate a piece of hot dog.
"How long do you think she was she crying?"
"Ummm....10 hours!" Ellie smiles.
"Yeah, it seemed like it. Did it bother you?"
Very casually and with a smile she says, "No. It didn't." Ate another piece of hot dog.

It begins

The sleep training has begun...full force. I almost wished we didn't have to go through the fiasco again...Kate used to sleep a good 6 hours straight at night...we were so happy. Then she began to wake up and couldn't go back to sleep unless she had the pacifier in her mouth...so....we begin having her sleep without it today.

It's gonna be a long week, but we look forward to the prize at the end.

I love my Kate.

My Sister

I said it before and I'll say it again...
Everyone needs a sister.
